Deb qualified as a Children's Nurse in 2002 and since devoted her career to neonatal services. Initially at the RVI Newcastle before moving to London to complete her MSc to become an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. After consolidating her learning at St Georges Hospital Tooting, she moved to East Surrey Hospital before relocating back to Northumberland.
She completed the Wolverhampton University Postgraduate Course - Advanced Clinical Skills in Tongue-tie (Ankyloglossia) whilst working alongside the tongue-tie and infant feeding team at East Surrey Hospital before relocating back to the North East.
As part of her Masters studies, she looked at maternal perceptions of expressing breastmilk on the neonatal unit, this research was published in 2012.
